About The Potter's Hut

Fee Latimer - The Potter’s Hut
I took up pottery back in 2020 having searched for a hobby that would help me unwind from my busy day job as a Primary Teacher. From the very first class, I was hooked! I looked forward to every class and gradually began to develop my skills as a potter, it became the perfect sanctuary. I was incredibly lucky with the group of potters in my class; the sense of support and friendship was a huge part of the joy of the experience. That feeling of connection is why I am so keen to build a creative community, a place where you can escape and enjoy being creative in the beautiful surroundings of Humbie.
My vision is to create an inclusive and welcoming space where potters of every ability can come together, share their enthusiasm for ceramics and support each other in their artistic endeavours.
To me, ceramics is about much more than producing finished pieces. The entire process, from shaping raw clay to witnessing a piece emerge from the kiln, offers a unique sense of fulfilment. The art of being creative, engaging with different materials, and overcoming challenges along the way provides benefits that extend well beyond the studio walls.
